Marie-Andrée’s good taste and talent was used to decorate all rooms of Château de la Motte. All bedrooms are different, and each one has its unique charm. Dimensions extend from the small and pretty medieval room in the round tower to the sumptuous suite named Ysabeau de Poitiers. All rooms are equipped with all the necessary features for privacy, quality and comfort, from bathroom to bedding. Additional beds include period furniture from the 19th century. Two cots are available for toddlers, free of charge.

Internet is available in rooms whose stone walls are not too thick. (Please request code number or appliances.). WiFi is available to all at all times in the drawing room.

Additional information:

Arrival & Departure time: preferably after 4 p.m. in order to ascertain we are fully available. Rooms should be made available for cleaning at 11 a.m. latest. However, you can stay over in the sitting room/Salon or take advantage of gardens.

Getting to your rooms: the Chateau has been build into several floors spaced with high ceiling rooms. To reach your room you will have to climb stone spiral staircases 2 to 3 storeys up. Meanwhile, staircases are wide and steps are not worn out. However, you should be fit and provided with light luggage.

Comfort: the whole Chateau is non smoking, inclusive of hallways. We cannot accept pets in the whole property. All our rooms are provided with en-suite private bathrooms and toilets. Main bedding is meeting high standards for comfort and quality, while being decorated as antique. Secondary beds are period furniture.

Payment: You can pay with € cash, Visa and MasterCard CC or french Euro cheques. During high season we may require a deposit. Wiring from bank to bank is feasible. The easiest is a direct communication, via a telephone call, of details of your Credit Card.

The castle is strictly non-smoking. We will be pleased to provide you with an ash tray to permit you smoking on the high-court/hanging garden, located at the level of the sitting room/salon/dining-room.

Our pet friends are not invited into the property!

Charming little geometric room located in the round keep. 15th century ambiance with a period fireplace, terracotta floor tiling, a stone bench and coloured beams. This room faces South with a pleasant view on the countryside and the nearby village down below.

Pleasant room (as all others !) and spacious. Facing East toward the rising sun. Medieval type window frame.


  • Canopied twin beds which can be joined to make an extra wide bed (94”) or 240cm)
  • Small bed for a toddler 3-5 y.o.
  • An additional bed can be possibly added
  • Bathroom equipped with a “bidet”and bathtub-shower.
  • Separate toilet facing a South side window.

Family suite made of a large room with a sumptuous four-poster bed, stone benches facing each other by the medieval window.

Communicating doors with the room Ysabeau de Poitiers can be opened up upon request.

<p>Le « petit salon », situé entre la chambre à coucher et la salle de bain, comporte un lit « Empire » d’appoint pouvant convenir pour une personne de petite taille</p>
<p> La petite salle de bain est logée dans une petite tour carrée. Sa fenêtre, au niveau de la baignoire-douche, lui apporte une grande clarté. Les toilettes sont dans la même petite pièce.</p>
